Speranza22 is an international rugby team formed to play in memory of Marco Speranza. Marco died in a plane crash in his native Argentina in February 2013. Marco started playing rugby at Abu Dhabi Harlequins when he was 15 and was quickly recognized as an exceptional talent. He played for the Arabian Gulf and also for the Quins 1st and 2nd XV as an 18 and 19-year-old.
The team bearing his name since have appeared at every Dubai Sevens. They have achieved the titles of: 2014 Finalists, 2015 Quarter-Finals, 2016 Plate Finalists and 2017 Plate and Trophy Finalists. Speranza22 have only continued to grow, maintaining Marco's incredible memory whilst supporting exceptional causes.
